About the Project
Riverside Virtual Classroom is a browser-based, third-person 3D classroom built in Unity3D for WebGL, using Photon Fusion for networking, Agora for voice, and PlayFab with MongoDB for authentication. Up to 40 students join as seated avatars alongside a teacher who holds exclusive control over the session: muting individually or all at once, granting speaking permission only through a Raise Hand request, and recording attendance and session notes that autosave throughout class. Movement is deliberately disabled for every user — the design trades an explorable 3D world for something schools need more: a controlled, disruption-resistant remote classroom with real avatar presence. Built for educational institutions running supervised remote or hybrid classes, it aims to solve the problem flat video calls can't: giving one teacher a workable way to manage a large group's attention and voice permissions without losing order.
