About the Project

Clerestory House is a real-time archviz walkthrough of an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space defined by a vaulted, exposed-beam ceiling, skylights, and full-height glazing connecting the interior to the surrounding landscape. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the scene uses Lumen for fully dynamic global illumination — letting daylight bounce naturally across the white oak flooring, marble surfaces, and brass fixtures without any pre-baked lighting — alongside Nanite for high-density geometric detail on the beam structure and millwork. The result is a photoreal, fully real-time render pipeline suited for interactive client walkthroughs rather than fixed camera stills, showcasing how natural light moves through the space across different times of day. Designed as a portfolio piece demonstrating Unreal Engine's real-time rendering capability for residential architectural visualization, with an emphasis on material realism and light accuracy over stylization.
